A 6 Pack Diet
We all like looking good. In fact, we work and strive for it in lots of ways. We spend money on great clothes. We have our hair cut and colored just right. We even have our teeth whitened. Most of all, however, we spend time and money at the gym trying to look our best. The crowning achievement of all that work at the gym is not just a flat tummy. Yes it looks good but what we are really looking for, however, the six pack abs are. Not only do they help you look healthy, what they really do is help you look sexy.
That toned, sexy, healthy look does come from hours and hours at the gym. Now, of course, you will end up spend time there but that is not the most important part. The gym will build the muscles of your six pack but if it hides under your gut it does you no good. That is why you need a six pack diet. Those two working together will bring you the abs everyone wants.
Oddly enough, the most important part of your 6 pack diet is not what you eat at all. It involves how you eat. More precisely it is when you eat that will help make a difference.
We grow up eating 3 meals a day. Some people even drop down to a mere 2 meals a day when dieting. These people are going in the wrong direction. You don’t need to be eating less often. Instead, you should eat more often. This sounds counter-intuitive but it has been shown that people will eat less and better if they eat 5 meals a day. Why is this? It is because the vast number of snacks are bad for you and you eat more poorly when you eat snack rather than meals.
When eating to build muscles people always think of protein but veggies are needed in the diet also. The important thing with vegetables is that you want the most efficient ones. This means you get the most nutrients for the calories. Here spinach rules with sweet potatoes, though not really a vegetable, bringing up a close second. Oddly enough, tomatoes are not that good for you but things made from them, like tomato sauce and tomato paste, are.
Your proteins are simple enough. You want the protein but not the fat so eat the turkey and not the hamburger. Also add a wide assortment of beans to fill out your protein but not just one type of beans. Powdered whey protein is another good choice.
Everybody’s body craves sweets so let your body have them. What you don’t want are large servings if eclairs but berries are a different story. They are loaded with sugar but still very good for you.
The key to your 6 pack diet is very simple. There are some thing to remember, however, you are still going to need plenty of protein to build the muscles on your abs. Don’t starve vegetables out of your diet as you need them to stay healthy. Finally, when you crave sweets try eating a variety of berries. You get your sugar and nutrients.
